Downtown Focus
Below are sample issues of the Downtown Focus, a
publication of the Downtown Mesa Association promoting
the square mile of downtown Mesa, Az. Except where by-lines
indicate otherwise, I wrote every article in every issue.

The Downtown Focus was published every two or three months with an average print circulation of
14,000 to residents, offices, business centers, and commercial property owners in Mesa and beyond.
An average 6,000 additional copies per issue were downloaded from www.DowntownMesa.com.

Ruins Seldom Seen
My book Ruins Seldom Seen combines the subjects
of archaeology and hiking. A completely revised
second edition was released in 2011 by Falcon
Guides, a division of Globe Pequot Press.

Miscellaneous Articles
The following articles are older but represent the
diverse range of topics I covered from 1991 to 1997.
They were published in corporate newsletters, verbatim
in "outside" publications after being mailed as press
releases, or in newspapers as freelance feature stories

The Yamaha article won a Copper Quill Award for feature writing
from the International Association of Businesses Communicators
